Coalesce New Years is probably unlike any event you have ever attended, unless you’re familiar with desert renegades. It’s a beautiful wasteland with unpredictable weather and cold temperatures day and night in the winter months.
Making the trek to the desert can be intimidating if you’ve never done it before, so we’ve compiled a list of advice from previous Coalesce attendees to help make your virgin pilgrimage out to the desert a success.
PACK WARM
“Be prepared for the cold, but don’t be intimidated by it.”
“Bring ur fuzziest fuzzies and two pairs of gloves!!!”
“Make sure you’re properly layering your clothes”
“Two words: hand warmers”
“Contribute to the community warmth circles by bringing extra bundles of wood!”
PREP FOR THE DRIVE
“Always shoot to arrive during the daytime!”
“Avoid driving any low-to-the-ground vehicles”
“If you must drive a car that’s low to the ground, try to avoid any sandy spots on the road. And drive with confidence - hit the gas pedal!”

FOOD & water
“Bring food you’re excited to eat and that is easy to make with minimal waste”
“Bring 6 gallons of water! or more!”
“Eat enough to nourish and bring pedialyte to stay hydrated”
“Bring teas and soups and a thermos for the dance floor !!”
